Celebrating Poole and Dorset’s maritime heritage and environment. The Poole Maritime Festival incorporates the annual Poole Harbour Boat Show which in 2016 attracted over 15 000 visitors. Plans include tall ships, flotillas, yacht and power boat racing, all with a friendly family festival air.
European Maritime Day 2017 -18–21 May 2017
European Maritime Day (EMD) is the annual meeting point for Europe’s community of maritime professionals. Created in 2008 European Maritime Day provides a forum for people from different areas of the ocean economy, from the world of science, from public government and administration to showcase their activities, learn from each other, discuss cross-cutting issues and develop joint visions.
EMD Conference: The European Maritime Day Conference, a two day conference on 18 and 19 May 2017 is at the heart of EMD, and attracts more than 1000 delegates and experts from across the globe. The conference will connect scientists, politicians, academics and business people from a variety of related industries – from shipbuilding to tourism. The topic for the 2017 conference is The Future of our Seas. EMD 2017 will focus on four themes:

- Innovation & Growth
- Sustainability & Governance
