The Great Dorset Steam Fair 2017 takes place from Thursday 24th August 2017 to Monday 28th August 2017 at Tarrant Hinton, Blandford Forum, DT11 8HX.
GDSF 2017 is not just for steam enthusiast. They have shows, exhibitions, live music and demonstrations – something for everyone in the family!

Apart from all these amazing displays and shows, the Great Dorset Steam Fair features six stages of live music offering a wide variety of music to suit a diverse audience. There is an Outdoor Concert Stage showcasing some of the country’s best-loved chart toppers from across the years as well as some of the best tribute bands around. The entertainment marquee hosts four stages of great music ranging from country to rock to good old party music, with another, smaller outdoor stage. There is live music right through the day.
After all these displays and live music, you are certainly going to need something to eat and drink, and once again, the choice is endless. There is a food hall featuring good, hearty local fare, local cider and ales, as well as seafood, burgers and coffee and cakes.
And of course there’s shopping! The Great Dorset Steam Fair features a craft section that includes a host of hand-made crafts including jewellery, toys clothes, hand-dyed yarn, woodcarvings, and a host of other items. Is it too early to be doing a bit of Christmas shopping?
