Bournemouth Air Festival 2017

It’s just a handful of days until this award-winning, internationally renowned Air Festival returns for its 10th year … and it’s not just in the air! The Bournemouth Air Festival 2017 has things going on:

In The Air

Red Arrows – It wouldn’t be much of an air show without the Red Arrows! See them on Thursday at 6pm, on Friday at 3.30pm and Saturday at 12 noon.
Apart from the Red Arrow there is this (almost) endless list of amazing aircraft to see during this 4 day festival.

On the Ground

A Very Vintage Sunday – Shake & Stir host this fun family event on East Overcliff Drive, featuring skiffle, swing and lindy hop.

Royal Air Force Village – The interactive RAF village at the Waterfront, Pier Approach. Find out more about a career in the RAF, check out the fantastic interactive Chinook and have your photo taken with the aircrew who operate this world famous aircraft.

Royal Navy Village – Featuring Royall Marine Viking Armoured Vehicles and the ever popular weapons dome.

The Army Village – Enjoy a hands-on experience with an array of army equipment, vehicle and the experts who operate them.

Royal Marines – At the Royal Navy Village, and bringing  boats, gunfire and tanks to the amphibious demonstrations on the beach.

Food and drink – You name it’s (probably!) here. From street food stalls to the impressive Immense Air’, a decommissioned 42 seater ATR 42 aircraft which has been converted into a bar on the beach.

At Sea

HMS Richmond – A 13 ‘Duke’ Class type 23 frigate that is making its debut at Bournemouth Air Festival 2017.

RFA Argus – This impressive Falklands and Gulf War veteran is back for its 4th appearance at the Air Festival.

HMS Blazer & Exploit – two of the smaller naval vessels, they support University Royal Navy Units.

Saturday – The Wonderband Stevie Wonder Tribute and hits from Earth, Wind and Fire, Chic, The Jackson 5 and more!
